Photos (pictures, slides and negatives)
Each photo is scanned in at a resolution high enough to maintain its true visual presence when printed. You receive your photos on CDs or DVDs in 2 (two) formats. The first is a .tif (lossless) format and should be stored in a separate location (i.e. safety deposit box, or at a relative’s/friend’s house). The second is a .jpg (lossy) format and can be used to make additional prints or copied to your computer.
Narrative
Each photo is placed in the sequence of your choice on the software’s ‘video timeline’ to create a photo slideshow. Narrating the photos (in your voice or a loved-one’s voice), describing the people and events, gives the photo slideshow a unique value. The visual memories along with the voice-over will be treasured by current and future generations.
Family Legacy
Each photo is placed in the sequence of your choice on the software’s ‘video timeline’ and is viewable for approximately 5 seconds then followed by a simple transition to move from one photo to the next. The photo slideshow is then copied to a DVD, which can hold 1 hour of video, the equivalent of 720 photos.
Titles
Titles can be added to the photo to identify people, places, events and dates. This option will increase the time that the photo is viewable, dependent on the length of the title, to give the audience time to read the title and view the photo.
Music
Music adds a professional touch in making the slideshow a more pleasurable event to watch. We can use your favorites or choose music to match the tempo.
Archival
This process is mainly for backup purposes and is viewable on any computer.
NOTE: The Narrative and Family Legacy tiers are viewable using any standalone DVD player or computer with the appropriate software. Some newer standalone DVD players are capable of playing the Archival tier as a slideshow.
