All existing splices are inspected and replaced if necessary.

Each frame of your film (over 4000 per 50') is captured on the computer's hard drive in a lossless (uncompressed) format known as .AVI.

Each file is then edited to remove the blank leader, the discolored ending and any un-viewable portions of the film (black, clear or sunburst) to create a new version of the video file.

These new files are put in sequence (supplied by you) and copied to a DVTape for your backup and safe keeping. Each DVTape will hold 1 hour of video, the equivalent of 16 - 3” reels.

The new files are then rendered to DVD formatted data files and copied to a DVD-R or DVD+R disc. Each DVD will hold 1 hour of video, the equivalent of 16 - 3” reels of film.

NOTE: Because these are in a lossy (compressed) format, this is not a ‘master' copy. The DVTape is to be used as a master for future processing.

For the video editor in all of us, an external hard drive (supplied by you) can replace the DVTape and DVD discs. In this case, you become the editor and create your own movies.

The Enhanced Package starts with the features of the Basic Package then we add Menu(s), Title(s) and Background music to the video.

Menus can be added at the beginning or at the end of the video on the DVD, giving you the option of seeing the menu first or the actual video first. Positioning links are set within the video for ‘next' or ‘skip' chapter viewing.

Titles are added at the beginning of each video contained within the DVD to identify the event being shown. These scroll across the bottom to avoid obstructing the viewing.

Background music gives it a professional touch while making the video a pleasurable event to watch. Music that best matches the tempo or your own favorites can be added to each video. To give it an original viewing experience, we can add the sound of a projector to the video.

The Premium Package includes the features of the Basic and Enhanced Packages, then we add your narration describing the event . Narrating the event gives the video a unique value. The visual memories, along with your voice describing the event, will be available to generations to come.

Because this is a lossless format and depending on the quality of the image, a special moment can be captured and printed as a standard 4x6 print.

Each photo is scanned in at a resolution high enough to maintain its true visual presence when printed. Each photo is then copied to a CD or DVD for your storage. The photos are stored as .tiff (lossless) data files. This process is mainly for backup/storage purposes viewable on any computer. Some newer standalone DVD players are capable of playing these as a slideshow.

Menus can be added at the beginning or at the end of the video on the DVD. This gives you the option of seeing the menu first or the actual video first.

Titles can be added to the photo to identify people, places, things and dates. This option will increase the time that the photo is viewable, dependent on the length of the title, to give the audience time to read the title and view the photo.

Music adds a professional touch in making the slideshow a more pleasurable event to watch. We can use your favorites or choose music to match the tempo.

This package includes the features of the Basic and Enhanced Packages along with your description (in your voice) of the event.

Narrating the photos gives the slideshow a unique value. The visual memories along with your voice will be available to generations to come.

NOTE: The Enhanced and Premium Packages are viewable via any standalone DVD player or computer with the appropriate software.

The amount of video contained on the cassette will affect the number of DVDs produced. We set a limit of 2 (two) hours of video on each DVD to retain the best quality for viewing.

2 or less hours = 1 DVD

3 to 4 hours = 2 DVDs

5 to 6 hours = 3 DVDs

A simple starter menu is added to the beginning of the DVD. Subsequent chapter titles can be added at selected index entry points within the video. Positioning links are set at increments of 5 minutes for ‘next' or ‘skip' viewing of the video.

Sections of the video on a cassette can be copied to the computer's hard-drive and stored in a digital format. Depending on the quality of the image, a special moment can be acquired and printed as a standard 4x6 photo.

In most cases the hours of video stored on video cassettes make it too expensive to do a custom DVD. This doesn't mean that it can't be done. All the editing that can be performed for film can be performed on the video from cassettes. Pricing estimates are quoted on total volume of film to be processed and editing time.
